The Womb of Creation

In the flow of the creative process I am often surprised by the images that come forth, seemingly unbidden. Over the past several years I have sought deeper experiences of belonging in the animate world. The semi-abstract image of a laboring woman laying in a field of flowers is not immediately apparent. In fact, the figure blends into the landscape in a way that speaks to our collective need to recover this quality of belonging to the natural world as all that we know, including our species, is born of creation’s womb.
